Getting Campy

So not long ago I went camping. You know, fresh air, the great outdoors, birds, bees and bears. Pleasure as God intended. And what jaunt in the woods would be complete without a picnic: eating out in the wild, quaffing sweet libations au natural, consuming ambrosiac ailments.
This particular feast centered on juicy wieners in toasted buns. Garnished with the sweetest of relish. And for dessert. Ah yes, the climax of any good pabulumic outing, we savored jiggly jello with a whipping of cream.
Funny how a good picnic wears you out. I love that sweet sleep that follows a particularly intense meal.

Haven’t been camping for a while, but if you read my blog today, you might be able to guess my favorite meal (or one of them, anyhow). Austrians like their knödl, but I prefer Chinese dumplings, and was thrilled to find decent dim sum on a day trip to Vienna yesterday.

linda | April 10th, 2009, 8:08 pmIt’s been too cold to go camping! I go every year in May (perfect time of year in Texas… not too hot, not too cold. Although the water is still chilly!) with my crazy family… I can’t wait! We have food out the wazoo… burn my weenies and marshmallows please!
My favorite food… anything not cooked in a fast food restaurant.
