In general, I think our natural resting state is rooted constancy. We revel in the familiar. We crave consistency.
But invariably transitions arise. Shit happens. We get wrenched out of our comfort zone and thrown into a state of chaos (like California).
So I have logged roughly 4000 miles in various cars, trucks and road bicycles over the past month. I’ve traveled from sea to shimmering sea. Sometimes the way forward has twisted and turned. Other moments, it has risen and fallen. It has, at times, laid down before me straight and true.
And finally, I am at rest. I have nestled into a new home on old familiar stomping grounds. At least until the lure of motion takes me back out on the road again.
Have you ever taken a road trip?

Yup. Driven to Tennessee twice from CA, stopping along the way. Hwy 40 all the way from Barstow to here. From here I have driven to Miami and back. That’s fun too.
Glad you’re home.
