Naughty Jester

Have you ever been flying higher than an untethered kite floating free while your significant other wallows in a foul temper? Who wins these skirmishes, these clashes of moods?

Some folks are in the mood for love. Others, for foxy carpet. Some are up, some are down. Such is the yin and yang of our existence with other sentient beings on this spinning blue marble we call earth.

In essence, mood is all about energy and tension. We are either amped up or tired or somewhere in between. Likewise, we are either wound up tight, looser than a floozy or floating anywhere between those poles.

I find myself ping-ponging all the time based on the concatenation of coincidences in my life. And my partner, invariably at times, sits on an opposite pole to me. We eye each other. One wallowing in the pits of self pity, the other smiling like there’s no tomorrow.
And something has to give. Usually the best solution to this problem is physical intimacy. Some grandmother’s say chicken soup is the salve to the soul. I, for one, beg to differ. A good shag … carpet can do wonders!
