So do you have a lifelong partner who makes you a better person? Does that person (or dog) stand by you through thick and thin? Is your pairing as inseparable as the Jonas brothers?
So yesterday I biked down country roads lined with yellowy-white suckled honey. A faint trace of hume hung in the air thus suspending the bouquet like an invisible tunnel of smell.
I took the lead into a stout headwind and sighted a crow on the far side of the road.
I began searching for her partner. Such is my quirky tradition. I always give myself a minute or two to glimpse the paired crow. You see, crows hook up for life. Where you see one, invariably another flaps nearby. A threesome or more of crows is called a murder. I’ve never witnessed a murder before. But I have convinced myself it is bad luck to see a single crow. So I must always balance the crow equation by espying them two at a time.
Good luck! I spotted the other crow across the pasture and for a split second the feeling that all was right in the world washed over me.
Made me wonder whether we humans were meant to stand alone, like islands in the stream, or mate up and share our adventures with another.
What do you think?
Have you ever tried the orally enticing Crow Position from the Kama Sutra?

ms. crow | May 25th, 2009, 5:54 amThough the romantic nature of my being longs for the coupling for life, experience leads me to think that perhaps we humans were not wired for it. We are so complex and ever-changing that to stay with one person for the duration seems next to impossible. Or maybe it’s just me.

All Weather Girl | May 25th, 2009, 2:10 pmI think we fair better in general when we are paired up with a mate. It’s the ying and the yang of life. When properly paired, we balance eachother out.
