Cat Zen Space – Teabagging it
Have you heard about “tea bagging”?
There’s been a lot of talk lately about it lately. It was all over the news last month and I suspect we’ll be hearing more about “tea bagging” in the days and weeks ahead.
As one half of a gay couple, I can tell you that this is a subject near and dear to my heart. My boyfriend loves tea bagging too. In fact, I’d say he is way fonder of it than I am. Among all things hot and steamy, tea bagging is my boyfriend’s favorite.
Recently, the boyfriend and I were in an interesting store filled with fascinating smells and exotic items. We were both wandering around separately. Then the boyfriend came over to show me something he found that he wanted to purchase. I was a little surprised.
“What is that?” I asked naively.
“A tea ball.”
I looked puzzled, so he felt compelled to explain: “This is for making the loose kind.”
Tea bagging wasn’t enough for him? Now he wanted it loose? You think you know a person.
When we got to the aisle where all manner of teas were displayed, I found out the real reason he was suddenly so drawn to tea balling over tea bagging—loose tea costs less.
“You’re so…cheap!” I said to him as we left the store after making our purchases. He just smirked. He didn’t mind being called cheap at all.
We went home. He brewed a hot and steamy cup of tea using his shiny new tea ball. It looked like a messy process to me.
As for me, I stuck to my tea bagging routine. Different strokes and all that…

I personally am a bagger. Although I LOVE the whole ritual of it, and use fine bone china teacups (it DOES taste better) to do it loose would be a bit much for me….

sue | May 11th, 2009, 5:59 amI am more of a bagger though I have done the loose thing – just not with a ball. No, they sold me these empty bags that you fill yourself and suspend with a small straw. Kinky, huh?
And every now and then, when I am pressed for time….I have been known to do it with instant (with lots of sugar) over ice. I know – and I am hanging my head in shame!
